Britain's "Loneliest Sheep" Fiona Gives Birth to Twins: "Lonely No More!"

Fiona, the ewe who captured hearts worldwide as "Britain's loneliest sheep" after being stranded at the foot of a cliff for two years, has officially traded her title for a much happier one: "World's Best Mum."

Staff at Dalscone Farm in Dumfries, Scotland, announced the joyous news this week: Fiona has given birth to healthy twin lambs. It is the ultimate happy ending for an animal who spent nearly 800 days in solitary confinement.

The Rescue That Gripped the Internet

Fiona's story began in 2021 when a kayaker spotted her stranded on a shingle beach at the foot of a steep cliff in the Scottish Highlands. Unable to climb up the sheer rock face, she survived alone in a cave, grazing on the small patch of grass available.

For two years, she was a solitary figure on the coast. When photos of her overgrown fleece went viral in late 2023, a petition to rescue her garnered over 50,000 signatures. A team of five farmers and climbing experts eventually rappelled down the cliff, put her in a canvas bag, and hauled her to safety in an operation described as "epic."

"Lonely No More"

After her rescue, Fiona was moved to Dalscone Farm Fun, where she was sheared of her massive overgrown fleece and slowly integrated with other sheep. She quickly became a favorite among visitors and staff.

Now, she has a family of her own. "We are beyond thrilled to introduce Fiona's two newest arrivals, born just last night," Dalscone Farm announced on social media.
