12-Year-Old Ontario Boy Starts Baking Business to Buy a Lego Set — Now He Can't Keep Up with Orders

While many 12-year-olds spend their weekends sleeping in, Liam Tait of St. Thomas, Ontario rolls up his sleeves for a full day of baking — and business couldn't be sweeter.

It all started with a goal: a coveted Lego set worth $600. Rather than asking his parents to buy it, Liam decided to earn the money himself by making cinnamon rolls from scratch.

"I had to find a way to earn money to get it, so I just started making cinnamon rolls," Liam explained.

From Side Project to Booming Business

What began as a simple side project quickly attracted attention. Liam and his mother, Angel Davie, found themselves spending up to 10 hours per day on weekends cranking out batches of handmade cinnamon rolls.

Even with orders initially open only to close friends and family, within three weeks Liam was posing for a picture with his brand-new Lego set — mission accomplished. But the orders kept coming.

"People kept being interested. It makes me feel really happy and excited to see," Liam said.

Learning the Real World

As demand continued to grow, it became clear that Liam's Cinnamon Rolls had real potential. His mother helped him set up the business properly, complete with a certified commercial kitchen, real books to balance, and real deadlines to meet.

"It's been hard, but it's been very fun," said Liam, who is learning valuable lessons about entrepreneurship, time management, and the satisfaction of earning his own way.

The young baker's story has captured hearts across Ontario, proving that with a little initiative and a lot of cinnamon, big dreams can come true — one roll at a time.
